Nineteen startups and small businesses receive grant of over £500,000 to produce circular products in challenge

According to the details published in the Valor Econômico article, “Project supports ‘redesign’ of food,” four Brazilian startups are among the finalists of an international project by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, which aims to redesign food based on the circular economy. Out of the 70 organizations that applied, 19 were selected for the next phase, receiving financial support to develop their ideas.

The chosen Brazilian companies proposed products made with raw materials from the national biodiversity, cultivated regeneratively by small and medium-sized producers. The startups include Japi Fermented Beverages, Nutricandies, Horta da Terra, and Mahta, each with innovative proposals such as carbonated refreshments, fat-free chocolate, super blends with Amazonian ingredients, and a shake with superfoods from the Amazon.

According to the Food Forum portal, in a world where sustainability is becoming increasingly crucial, startups are leading the way towards a circular economy. This movement, highlighted by the portal, shows how subsidizing circular products is not just a trend but an urgent necessity. Ellen MacArthur’s vision is becoming a reality through these innovative initiatives, where each product tells a story of renewal and respect for the environment

Horta da Terra couldn’t be happier to be part of this journey towards a more sustainable future, where creativity and environmental consciousness come together. 🌍♻️ !

Wait to see the next steps of our project, which is based on the best practices of regenerative and syntropic agriculture! Remembering that the purpose of Horta da Terra is to promote Amazonian biodiversity, through access for anyone on the planet to the nutritional, functional and medicinal powers of plants.
